ROLAND
RUSINEK is a native of Southern California where
he had the wonderful opportunity to play Beadle
Bamford in “Sweeney Todd” (with Kelsey
Grammer & Christine Baranski) at the Ahmanson
and The Governor in “Candide” at the
Los Angeles Music Centre. He had a ball playing
the colorful Piangi from the Toronto Company of “The
Phantom of the Opera”. Other roles include:
Cholet in Kopit and Yeaston's “Phantom!”;
Agon in the world premiere of “Florinda”;
and Nanki-Poo in “The Mikado”. Roland
reprised his role of Beadle Bamford for the New
York City Opera’s production of “Sweeney
Todd” directed by Hal Prince and starring
Elaine Paige. He met Susan Stroman when she cast
him as the lovable Mr. Fezziwig in “A Christmas
Carol” at Madison Square Garden. They worked
together again recently in the film version of “The
Producers: The Movie Musical”.
